Hey everyone!
My questions is regarding recons, Chase in particular. Last year in January and November I was approved for Freedom & Slate, respectively. Both by recon. On Christmas Eve, I applied for the CSP and was declined. I though to myself "of course I am, but I always get approved in Recon.". I have since called Recon 3 more times, lol. All of the times I was told since they were able to extend 2 lines of credit to me in 1 year they could not extend another until my history lengthens with them.
Has anyone ever heard of this before? Do they keep a tab on if you were auto approved or if you were approved by recon? Or are they just being stingy with me?
Im firmly in the garden until next January, so I do not plan to apply for anything soon. I have 22 inqs on TU and really want those down, by next January I will have 11 after gardening.
You can deffinetly have more then 2 lines of credit with chase and some have 5 within a few month period of time.. Sure other factors weigh in on them such as Fico score/Report, income, DTI ratio and other things.. Probably just a generic answer they are giving you to not want to extend another line of credit for whatever reason this might be. Maybe they don't like how many inquires you have along with how many new accounts and the overall exposure of all the new accounts?
