Chase Sapphire Denial...Recon possibility or don't bother?

Applied for the card on May 4th and the denial letter was not addressed until May 21 and the reason for the denial was...

"Balances too high compared to credit limites"

Is this worth calling the recon line or should I just let it go and wait it out to apply in another 6 months or so? Thanks all.

EDIT: I'm new and it's obvious.Below I've posted more information that hopefully will help....sorry.

I have a

Discover IT CL $1000 Balance is $600

Victoria's Secret CL $750 Balance of $90

Citi Thank You Preferred CL $2000 Balance is $400

Capital One Quicksilver One CL $3000 No balance

Chase pulled my TU and it was 684 I'm not exactly sure of my other scores I'm kind of new to all this.

Edit #2: Wow I surely am terrible at this... thanks for being patient. Who knew there was so much to do with credit?!

VS is 2 years old

Disover is just under 2 years

Citi is about 18 months

and the Capital One is relatively new it's a month old

Welcome to MyFico

It would help us to let you know whether you have any chance of approval if you provide a list of the cards you have and their current balances/credit limits.  Also if you know your Fico scores that would additionally help.

In general you have nothing to lose by calling and asking for recon.  Just be prepared to answer any questions that they might have.  Chase usually likes to see another $5K limit on your file before the CSP but it's not completely required.  If you do have a really high utilization percentage and have the ability to pay it down in the next several weeks, you can recon the denial for up to 30 days.

Edit - I see you added the balances.  They arent excessively high overall.  I would go ahead and give them a call. Can't hurt.

One other question.  How old are your accounts?

Re: Chase Sapphire Denial...Recon possibility or don't bother?

I-ve read of them not approving because of limited/no experience at the CSP CL level (no $5k or higher credit limits). Your util isn't terrible, but that Disco reads as 60% on it's own.

From what I've read, Im surprised they didnt use the "limited experience with higher limits" denial.

If I were you, I would call in and ask for recon. Be ready to explain why you want the card, why your Disco balance is "high," and any negatives on your CRs (and or why those won't happen again).

You already took the hard-pull...

Good luck!

Yeah call back door make sure you have your ducks in a row bc they will ask about that 60% so if it's a balance transfer or you're on promotional financing something to explain it. Guessing if they approve you it'd be 5k
