Chase Sapphire Email

I recieved an email from Chase inviting me to apply for Sapphire Preffered.  It read like this:

Thank you for being a valued Chase customer. We invite you to apply for our Chase Sapphire Preferred® credit card, named Best Credit Card for Flexible Travel Redemption – Kiplinger's Personal Finance July 2016**

Is this considered  a pre-approval or just a general marketing email?

Not necessarily marketing I just received the same email as well as an offer for the CSP on my Chase portal. If the email gives a fixed APR at the bottom along with a disclaimer stating that you can unsubscribe to pre-approved offers then it is an actual pre-approval. Another poster in the approval thread just posted about their offer and subsequent approval.

Re: Chase Sapphire Email

I got something like that once. I think I even asked this same question. Mine didn't have an apr, just a range. I'm at 5/24, so didn't apply. My offers with Chase don't show anything either. You can check your offers in your account to see if it pops, or does this email gives the terms and a single apr?

Re: Chase Sapphire Email

This is called pre-screened offer. Between regular marketing and pre-approval. The success rate is high, like 80% I guess.

We received an Amex BCE offer in the mail. It was approved with the personal offer code and it was approved with very generous CL.

^ The Sapphire cards have never been known for low APR.
