Hello! I'm brand new to the forums, long time lurker. I'm here to share my experience with Chase and the on-going application, and I guess I'm also looking for some advice!
First, here is some credit history,
I have no installment loans of any type.
I currently have 3 credit cards, Wells Fargo secured $500, Capital one Quicksilver ONE $300 and I also have a credit one bank card at $450.
less than 5% utilization
only about 1 year since I opened my first credit card.

So, here's the story I check pre-qualify pages at most major banks like once a month, I checked chase's page, and I was Pre-Qualified for 4 different cards! They were offering me the freedom, freedom unlimited, slate and also the Saphire Preferred. I did some reading and apparently, Chase is really good with pre-qualify approvals, especially if you have a fixed APR on the terms. (not a range)
So I took the bait and apped for the Saphire Preferred. This was on the 17th. I got the 30 day e-mail and from the research I been doing on chase I've found out it could go any way, but it it does generally lean towards an approval. So I did what most of you recommended and I just kept calling the Robot Lady for status and today I called in and got the 7-10 day message. I figured it is a denial, but again I listened to the internet and called the backdoor recon line to see whats up.
The nice recon lady verified me by texting my phone and told me it's in a verification process and she then transferred me to verification department.
I spoke with the verification man and he told me to wait for the letter you will receive in the mail, and then fax, or mail a copy of your State I.D Card along with a copy of the letter so we can further process the application.
Now, this is all good signs, right? I'm impatient and I take it to heart when I get denied, especially if I get teased lol. Just looking for some reassurance from you guys so my brain can calm down LOL.
This is the most up to date information I have, hopefully this can help someone in the future! I will update as more information comes along.
Agreed, it will only make you a customer of theirs faster, which is a win-win.
Agree with the others - at this point, they're looking for the reason to confirm a "yes", not a "no", and that reason can be faxed over from your local branch. Congrats!
Wells Fargo secured $500, Capital one Quicksilver ONE $300, credit one bank card at $450. you have had credit for 1 year. you applied for what some consider one of the best all around cards to get with a min $5K sl. I want to be wrong and I am rooting for you but an approval would seem a long shot on paper. go to creditchecktotal and get a $1 trial and cancel and post your real scores.
I know you are nervous but I think you got it. Go into a branch like the others have said. Hurry, run! It's calling your name!
