Apped for the Chase Slate last night. Currently only carrying a 0% balance with my myNFL Barclays card due to house remodel. Anyway, wanted to move to Chase Slate due to zero percent and no balance transfer. Immediate response online "pending review" followed by an e-mail citing:
"Thank you for submitting. . . here's what to expect next . . . decision through U.S. mail within the next 30 days. If we approve your application, we'll send. . . if we don't approve your application, we'll send you a letter. . "
Thoughts? Always PIF, only balance is with myNFL card, utilization less than 5% with scores around 750+.
How many cards did you obtain over 24 months? You may have fall into their 5/24 rules (5 cards within 24 months). Or you could call their recon number and asked if there's anything wrong with your applications, etc. They may just want to verify it was you who signed up.
Called recon. Too many accounts within the past two years. . . Hmm. . . Well, I did ask him for my CS and he said it was good but couldn't disclose it - I'd have to wait for the letter (per his supervisor). My first rejection . . . It hurts! Any other ideas for a low 0% apr card and low balance transfer fee?
P.S. Before he told me I was denied for too many acocunts, he said this was something he couldn't reconsider and/or review for further evaluation. . . BS? Should I call again and ask with a different representative?
Chase has a strict 5/24 policy. It is no way of getting around it. They don't care if your scores are 800 and if you have more than 5/24 they will deny the app. I have not yet seen someone get around this new policy with them.
Thanks - I understand it (I guess). Does a "decline" hurt more than a basic inquiry?
