Another Update: I decided to go for the recon, nothing to lose - the additional hard pull won't matter since it's coming from the same exact lender close to the same exact time. Reconned over the phone, the rep didn't ask me much since all my information was the same. After a brief hold, he stated that the request would have to go to a loan officer, which I was expecting.
He didn't ask me the CL I wanted, so I asked if I could request an amount. He said there wasn't a section for that on his computer application form (uh...what?) but he could put it in the comments of the request so the loan officer would see it. I asked for $10k.
About 2 days later, I got a notice I was approved for $10k. All is right with the universe. ![]()
Moral of the story, kids: Always recon. Make your hard pulls count.

Congrats on the CLI. You will like Penfed. So far so good. Everithing is pretty simple and smooth.
Looking forward to it. And looking forward to paying off that debt.
