Applied Last Friday and got the we need more time to review your application. I have called the Chase automated phone number to check the status and get the message that we are still reviewing your application and you will recieve something in the mail in 7-10 days. My question is do they tell you that you are denied? Im fairly sure the 7-10 day means a denial but i was just curious if im wasting my time calling in to check the status or if it will tell me im denied or approved.
Is this your first chase card? I would just sit tight and see what the response is no use calling recon if you don't know whether a denial. Yes, you will definitely get a letter either way

Chase will let you know if you are denied by mail. If denied, you will get a letter, if you are approved you will also get a letter.
The only thing I will say, besides for checking your status on the phone, I would also recommend calling Chase Reconsideration Line. I call when I applied for my first and only Chase card and they just had to confirm some information and the approval came in within that afternoon. I've heard is a more common thing now a days to have to get your identity verified when applied for card. Although keep in mind 7-10 days does not necessarily mean a denial but with Chase it could be likely.
What I did was call to say my application was pending and I asked if there is anymore information they needed from mme or they needed to verify my information, etc? They then checked my application, confirmed some things and said that was it and I could check the automated number or email for any updates.
Good luck!
yes, This is my first with chase. I had one 10 years ago or so but they closed it. Went through a divorce but did not have anything negative towards Chase.
I wasnt sure if i would get a NO/Declined via the automated response or if it would just continue to say that my application is being reviewed. I didnt want to call anyone to be declined in person if i didnt have to.
As far as I know, the 7-10 day message is usually a denial buut they will not tell you this over the automated message while on the phone, it is just a seemingly frequent statistic.
