Hi!
I've have recently stumbled upon the concept of the Chase CC trifecta, i am not very versed on credit cards but looking at the various ways that the CFU and CFF work to feed into CSP (or CSR for that matter) in order to maximize value (and i hope i'm getting that right) i was looking to apply to one of them to get the ball rolling. My interests are to gather/use the reward points mainly for travel.
I have no financial history with Chase, not sure if that is going to make things more difficult, but i was wondering if i could get some guidance on which would be a good CC to start with? if approved, how long should i wait until applying for a second one? Are there better options?
Any other pointers will be truly appreciated!
Some info about myself:
FICO Score 8:
- EQ: 818
- TU: 814
- EX: 812
No late payments
1% Utilization
~10 years
1 Recent Inquiry (Personal Loan)
Not sure if this is sufficient information, do let me know if there is anything else you would want me to add.
Thank you for any guidance provided!

You won't need a financial history with Chase in order to get approved for a card.
Your scores are more than sufficient to qualify. If I were in your shoes, I'd apply for the card that matches my needs the most right now. If you know that you want a feeder for a future CSR or CSP - look at the CFU and CFF and see which one you'd be inclined to use the most.
I hope that helps and that more knowledgeable people chime in soon.
Best wishes!
What at @SweetCreditObsession said. Plenty of other posts on this forum and other that can explain best use of chase cards and how to maximize the out card whether CSP/CSR. Much of it is subjective and takes planning etc. Unlike MR's the worse you can do is 1 cent per UR or more where-as MR's can be below 1 cents per MR or well above. URs are easier to work with for most.
thank you! appreciate the feedback!

Chase generally will only approve 2 cards of the same type (personal or business) within a 30 day period... so technically you could apply for your 2nd card any time... should you? Good question. Very nice SL and approval you got, congratulations!

Well last year I got the CFF (9700 SL) in Feb and the CSP (16600 SL) in April. The 80K sub for CSP during April last year made me move faster than I had planned to. I did already have a card with Chase that was opened in 2005. I think at least wait 30 days. Oh, and more importantly, Congrats on the CSP approval!!
@jibc1978 congratulations on getting approved with a great SL too! 🎊

The best card to start out with would be one of the Freedom cards.

Congratulations. I would say 3 months, but I'm not one of the Chase aficionados.
