@Anonymous wrote:I applied for the Chase Slate Card. It fit a need for me to be able to transfer a balance at a 22+% rate and no BT fee and 0% for 15 months, as long as I transfer withing 2 months. I was approved instantly with a $5000 limit.
I then tried to submit an app for the Freedom card and instead of taking me to the Application page it took me to a page that said:
"THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUBMISSION
We appreciate your interest in a Chase card product. We have received the
information you have submitted. You may close your browser session."
I hate to sound dumb, but what does this mean? Does this mean it wouldn't let me apply for the Freedom card? Does it mean I was declined? I am confused.

Yes, Rallaster, that worked. I had found another site that directed me to the same information. I just went to my desktop computer instead of the laptop I was on for the first app. All went through perfectly!
Approved for the Slate card with a $5000 Line
Approved for the Freedom Card with a $4500 Line.
I am pleased with that. I hope it will only result in one hard pull on my credit reports.
I would have loved to have had the Sapphire preferred, but honestly was a little scared I would not get approved. in looking at some credit forum and card review sites, the average acceptance score for the Slate was 679 and for the Freedom was 683. The average acceptance score for the Sapphire Preferred was 741. From the CreditPull database, in my state, Chase has only pulled from Equifax and TransUnion. Those were my lowest two FICO8 scores (EQ 699, TU 706). And although my Experian FICO8 was 750, it just seemed like too big a risk for the added bonus and/or added rewards for the Sapphire preferred over the Freedom. Plus I hate paying an annual fee! it is $95 for the Sapphire Preferred vs. $0 for both of the two I got.
Ok, so I am a bit of a chicken I suppose for not "going for it" on the CSP, but like a lot of others here I am sure, the path to better credit has been hard and long. I just didn't want to go backwards with an application and a denial that would just add another hard pull to my reports with nothing to show for it. Plus the Slate card, although has no rewards, helps me tremendously on a balance transfer that I can now spread out over 15 months (if I choose) with no interest. My current rate on that debt is 22.49%
Does anyone agree or disagree with my logic? THANK YOU all who talked me through this decision! All advice is much apreciated and welcomed!
