I applied for the Chase freedom flex card the other night and got the generic 30 day email. Me being an impatient person I decided to call the automated status line the next day and heard they will let me know in 2 weeks. Now as of today that messaged has changed from 2 week to the dreaded 7-10 response in writing. Meanwhile I have had no alerts from CK or Experian of any of my credit being pulled which I find very odd. Every time I have applied for a new CC or an auto loan my phone lights up like a Christmas tree as soon as they hit submit. Has this happened to anyone on here before?
Hi @Anonymous, welcome to the forums.
Often times, there can be delays for some Credit Monitoring Systems to generate alerts. Chase can pull any of the 3 CRAs (sometimes double) -- depending on your region and other factors. However, if the 7-10 day message yields when you call, just wait until you receive some correspondence from Chase for next steps.
30 days and 2 weeks messages more likely approval. The 7-1 days might yield a denial
Well dodo bird me forgot that I had a freeze on my equifax account before applying and I'm thinking that is why I haven't seen any reports come thru of a hard pull for a week now. I will call the reconsideration line tomorrow to see if that is the reason and if I can reapply right away.

That would likely be your reason. Never apply for cards with CRAs froozen. Sure they will pull it just make sure you are under 5/24 rule on new accounts or would be a waste, but if you are under 5/24 call and the certainly will pull it and do a recon.
Do you have Experian frozen as well? They almost always pull EX + EQ, or EX + TU depending on your location. I have 3 Chase cards now and they always pulled EX + EQ for me.
I'd unfreeze all 3 to be safe, then call recon.
Chase has only pulled EX for both of my apps. I'd second @CreditMarathoner in checking to make sure you don't have EX frozen.

Yes, they tried pulling my EX but I had a freeze on it. I call the BD# and spoke with a really nice lady who ran my credit, then said it had to go off for a secondary review. I have been calling the automated line since Monday after I hung up the phone with her and have received the automated 2 week message.
