Just had pretty good success with an impromptu app spree, and today, for the first time, I have pre-quals on the Chase site. Freedon is listed first, Slate is listed under "More great pre-qualified offers". How accurate is the pre-qual site?

Very accurate if you haven't applied and got approved for more than 5 cards in the last 2 years.. If you have, I wouldn't apply as it will be a decline due to a new policy of theirs of 5 new cards in 2 year policy = auto decline.. Otherwise if less than 5 you are golden on the freedom.
Chase is generally pretty solid, but like all of them it's not guaranteed. How many new cards have you gotten in the last two years? If it's five or more, you'd probably get a denial.
I had exactly 5 new CCs is the last 12 months plus 2 loans, freedom and slate showing and got approved for freedom.
Well crap. QS, QS1, NuVision Visa, Walmart, Macys and Kays within the past year. Venture, Lowes, Discover, and BCE aren't reporting yet. Looks like I'll be waiting awhile for any action from Chase.
I'm curious if they'll actually deny a prequal for the reason of more than 5 cards even if the prequal is based off a report showing more than 5. I have 6 cards (2 CC and 4 store cards) and the oldest are about a year old yet I have a prequal for Freedom.
I think the prequal is pretty solid if something hasn't changed since you were softed.
I would be careful if you've had a bunch of new cards though.
I wish I knew for sure. Once my new TL's report it'll be a denial for sure. Two years is a long, long time...

You might as well hit it now. The HP will bunch with your other recents and age off at the same time.
Well, that answers that question...
