Hello All,
So i decided to apply for this card knowing that my credit score is about 690 with a BK back in 2011. i have no late payments since then.I got the message that stated that it was being reviewed. I decided to call the lending department since recon couldn't help me because it was in review and i was able to speak with an agent who advised that i have been denied because of the 5/24 rule. I advised him that most of the new cards opened in the past 24 months were authorized users, he took a look and said it was a total of 7 but then 4 were authorized, he then put me on hold to check my report. He comes back and tells me let me ask you a few questions regarding income, i stated 196k a year and own my home, followed by my balances on 5 cards which are roughly 65% utilized. He then states ok let me notate your account, he comes back on and tells me that he will submit the application to "final review/approval department and that i should know in 2 weeks.
Has anyone had luck with the final review/approval? does that mean i actually have a good chance of getting approved? They did not ask questions about my BK.
I really want this card as i will now start traveleing more for work.
All the help and feedback is appreciated.
Thanks
Welcome to the board. It means you have a 50/50 shot. If you didn't burn Chase in your BK, then you have a 70% chance. The analyst is likely seeking a second review from a supervisor to make sure nothing is missed.
Will keep fingers crossed for you.
thanks for the warm welcome, look forward to posting more. I really hope i get this as i want to only have cards under my own name. I have a really good relationship with capital one which gave a 20k limit on Venture. Keeping fingers crossed as well. thanks.

Glad you plan on sticking around. With your salary and the analyst not denying you, you definately have a shoe in. Remember, you have 30 days to get it approved. So plenty of time for a rebuttal. Update the thread when you hear back as I am following.
will do. thanks.
Good luck, but I think the 65% utilization is going to hurt your chances.

One problem

Another serious problem. Keep in mind that the general recommendation is do not exceed 30% and that's far from ideal.
Good luck with it but temper your expectations given the above.
