Chase verification

Finally got my friend to apply for chase freedom card (which her banker told her she was preapproved for) and she got the wait message after app. I had her call recon and they told her to call back mon-fri and provided her a number saying they need verification, but apparently didn't bother to specifiy to her what type of verification they needed. I assume this is an address verification or something to do with identity? She used a mailbox place as the address on her app, because that is where she gets her mail and I thought that might trigger the problem. If so, can that be fixed in a phone call with her providing her home address or will they require a second app?

Re: Chase verification

I think most lenders require an actual address vs like a PO box or mailbox. They will probably want a copy of drivers license and maybe utility bill. Second app not needed.

Re: Chase verification

Not sure about Chase but I know some of the mailbox places are actually mixed use developments. Modern residential condos on top, retail on bottom. I had a friend who used to get  frustrated with some of the credit card companies because they would flag her as not haveing a residential address when she in fact did!

Odd I'm not sure why recon can't do that and they make her wait till monday to call a different line. I vaguely remember going through something like this (definetly did it with chase business card but thought I may have had it with something else as well).

The recon department is seperate from the verification department.  I can bet you if she banks with Chase, they will be asking her the amount in her account, last deposit date etc.. for verification...

Thanks for the headsup. I will let her know to review her account beforehand so she can have that info.

You are welcome!!  That is what they will do for customers who bank with them.  Also, have her have any other security info. she put on her app. or her account when she opened it like mothers maiden name, fathers name, pet name etc... that was used.

Re: Chase verification

That will probably delay the process. They will want a mailing address.
