So my Experian report is frozen, and for some reason I can't unfreeze online, and tried to call through to a representative and have been on hold forever. I applied for the Southwest Visa card, and they pulled experian, and when I called to try for them to pull another bureau, they stated to me that they can't for security purposes. Anybody have any luck with Chase pulling another bureau? I know they've done it before in the past for me but I think this might be a sign for me to not apply for the card or to deal with Chase.
If you can't unfreeze it then why not give them the PIN
Yes I have got them to pull another.. Call back and tell them you can't unfreeze and you might get lucky. No mods I am not advocating a better bureau, just giving an answer to the question. I have had luck with this.
Over the years Chase has pulled each one of my CR at one time or another. One time EX only, another EX+TU, another time EQ+TU. At the end of the day if you don't (or can't) give them access they don't have to approve, even if you're trying to get it unlocked. Chase has never pulled an alternate for me.
Chase pulled EQ for me after a previous denial with EX two weeks prior.
from my personal experience with chase. If you have a credit freeze they make you unfreeze it, but once you confirm with them its unfrozen they MAY let you chose anothe CB. i called one time for CLI and had freeze on TU lady said I need it unfrozen and she cant pull a differnt one. Finally I got it unfrozen called back and said I got my TU unfrozen but I really rather pull EQ but i understand you only pull what the system tells you. and he replied with "well now that TU is unfrozen their is nothing tying us to only pulling that. I can pull EQ if you want" and so he did. IT may be a YMMV type of thing. Also I dont know how he did it or if he confirmed that it was unfrozen. maybe they call tell with a SP?
