Citi AA 4506-C Issue

So I applied for the Citi AA Platinum Slect recently because it was recommended by CreditKarma. They pulled TransUnion and the status went to pending. I called and they said they were going to send me a letter with a 4506-C form to return to them.

Well all I got back from them was an email saying I need to fill out the form, so I googled 4506-C and filled it, similar to how you would do with a blank W-9. I want this card and those miles that come with it as a bonus, so I really didn't mind doing this. I burned Citi back in 2017, so I can see why they might want some extra info from me.

Anyway, I didn't hear anything for about 10 days so I called again and they said I filled the form out incorrectly and that I would have to send in another one. They said they would send me another one through the mail. After that, I got another email saying I need to read the attachment inside. But there was not an attachment at all in this email! The first email had a letter that was password protected. But the IRS form was not included in that one. In the second email, they didn't include any attachments at all. So should I wait and see if a letter actually comes in the mail this time, call them back again, or just re-apply later?

Keep after them until they get it right.

The 4506-C is kicked back by the IRS for the slightest problem. In my case...when Amex requested a 4506-C from me in 2022...it turned out that it was being kicked back by the IRS hecause it needed a wet signature. I had been affixing an electronic signature.
