I believe I may have hit a roadblock. I applied for the Citibank Costco Visa, Chase Freedom, Amex green card, Capital One Venture One, and all were denied!
Clearly, I have hit a roadblock in my rebuild. As a result, I will be in the garden for the next two years. More specifically, until June 2019. That's when my collection from PRA falls off.
I have plenty of cards to work on receiving credit limit increases. That's where my focus will be. I will continue to work on growing Discover, Capital One Quicksilver, Care Credit, and Barclays.
Just curious, why did you keep apping if you were getting denials?
Sorry to hear of your denials.
But, your plan to garden sounds like a good idea for you. Happy Gardening!

Well Poodle, they werent straight denials. Also, they were spaced about within 4 weeks from beginning to end, and I did have some successes in between.
The successes weren't new accounts, but they were significant credit limit increases with my existing accounts. I got just a hair
under 10k in total credit limit increases between three existing accounts. So I thought I would "Let it Ride!!" Live and learn!

Sorry to hear about this Grill, i know you were making huge strides with your rebuild. Its tuff to get those denials but with some encouragement from your Fico friends, its a lot easier to pick up the pieces and carry on. You know my recent deal with Penfed, well thanks to some of my Fico friends/family and real good Disco buddy, lol, im gonna march ahead and continue to build on what i got and make it stronger. I would urge you to do the same.
Any particular reasons on denials or too soon, no denial letters.? Im suprised at the CostCo and Navy, thought you had good shots. Stay positive my friend, if it were easy, a Caveman would do it
Joe, your awesome, and a true Fico Friend! :-)
Yup, were all good now, back to the garden, and will try again in about 2 years?? Unless I get trigger hapy again!
Take your time mate. I had a few snafu's when I had an uptick in my credit score and applied for what I thought I could get and then got turned down. That played out like a night in Vegas trying to prove them wrong w/multiple applications and the same denials. Eventually I got to where I needed to be +700 and slowly but surely things came to me. Ignore the turndowns, take notes, try the recon if you want; but if turned down, keep plugging along w/your gardening.

Just wanted to say I wasn't trying to be rude with my Q. I just freak if I get one denial and stop....LOL
But I am glad to hear you had some successes too! Congrats on those!

Not a problem. I never took your inquiry as rude in any way. 😃

You are not alone in finding out that with credit the old addage "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" does not necessarily work.
