So I received a Citi DC pre-approval letter, but also I received a denial of my previous Citi DC application a couple weeks before. These banks are so screwy sometimes. I'm assuming I should not have it reconned?
If those are your current FICO scores, you won't be approved for Double Cash.....maybe 6 months and some good seeding.
Cool thanks for the reponses! I got optimistic and almost re-applied. Then thought more realistically about it and didn't pull the trigger.

Good decisions... Citi pre-approvals are sometimes the subject of an anecdote. Hang in there...
This happened to me also.
When I was first denied for the Doublecash (April 2015), I received a pre approval mail for another Citi card about the same time as the denial letter. ![]()
Your best bet is to check their prequal site and verify it against your pre approval mail offers.
I was prequaled on the site for another Citi Card and when I got my latest mail prequal for the Doublecash (Dec 2015). I waited a bit and decided since it was a decent APR to apply and I was approved this time.
The same day I received my card I got a mail prequal for the Simplicity card also.
I did not apply for the Simplicity card.
