I recently requested a CLI on my Double Cash card which was denied. The letter they sent is confusing and a bit concerning to me however. On the back of the letter where they talk about knowing your rights, etc, the section that stated why I was denied was as follows:
The consumer reporting agency listed above(Transunion) also provided us with your credit score of 777(this is my actual TU FICO score), as of August 31, 2020, which we used in making our decision. Your credit score is a number that reflects the information in your consumer report and can change as the information in your report changes. Credit scores can range from 1 to 2500 - the higher the score, the better. The key factors that adversely affected your credit score are:
- There are too many recent increases in balance on revolving accounts
- Your credit report shows too many inquiries
- Months since most recent delinquency is too short
- There are too many revolving or charge accounts with a ratio of balance to credit limit that is too high
- Length of time since oldest mortgage account has been established is too short
All my accounts are 0 except 1 card, which is at 8%. I have 1 inquiry on Transunion & 0 on the others. I don't have any delinquencies & have never had a mortgage account. I realize that cc companies sometimes use oddball reasons to say No rather than just saying No. But some of these reasons kind of concern me because it almost seems like I'm reading someone else's info? I don't know, maybie they are just using really oddball reasons to say no but the deliquency & mortgage ones are really strange because they definitely don't pertain to me.
Also, what scoring system does Citi/TU use that ranges from 1 to 2500?
I plan on calling them soon, but was wondering if anyone had any ideas on any of this.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^
You are not alone , Sorry for your CLI denial
Similar issue here: This guy wonders whether it is Citi's internal scoring model
Try to call recon and ask why. It is sometimes true that they make up random reasons, but definitely try to make sure that your credit profile is not being mixed.
Nice ty! Didn't see that other thread in my search. May be the mods can merge this into the other thread for me?
I got a similar letter from them in September. 984 out of 2500. I think they're just being very conservative right now.
