I applied for a Capital One Venture X got approved, then got trigger happy and applied for an Amex Platinum and Citi Premier. Amex called me and approved me after verifying some info.
My Citi Premier app got denied because of too many inquiries, they pulled Experian which Capital One and Amex also pulled.
Has anyone been successful with a recon? Please let me know what I should do, thanks!
I haven't seen any successful reconsiderations when it comes to being declined for inquiries and/or new accounts. You can always try reaching out, but temper expectations.
When I called the recon line, the rep said it was because I had a pull on my Experian report from the Capital One application on the same day. She said they could pull another report but I know that Capital One pulled all 3.
My question is if they pull my Equifax or Transunion, I'll only have that 1 Capital One pull on both and 2 car loan inquiries from February on my Transunion. How many is "too many" for Citi? They keep the application open for 60 days she said, should I try again in a few weeks and have them pull Equifax?

Not sure how many is too many but if you really want the card I would let them pull a different report and see how it goes. GL if you decide to move forward!
Citibank has some lesser known policy that if you any inquiry is pulled same day or within the last 5 days (or something like that) the application is instantly denied with no recon available. My guess is they think the applicant might be "credit seeking". It's one of their odd and lesser known rules.
Happened to me a few years ago. If not mistaken they also have a 6/6 rule that they stick to also
