Hi all,
So i recently applied for Chase Freedom and Amex Everyday Card and got approved for Both.
About a day after I did that I decided to app for the Citi Double Cash Card but was instantly denied online. Was kind of surprised but im assuming the computer denied me based on inquiries but ive only had 2 the past year. so im not sure
My question is what is best backdoor number to call for Citi? I see all of them there but arent sure whether I should call EO or regular CSR.
THANKS
I would definitely call the Executive Office. I know that CITI is sensitive regarding inquiries; but two I would not think should trigger an instant denial of your application.
Good Luck! Keep us posted.

I called this morning to the EO and they said they would have to call me back next week. They told me they denied it due to recent inquiries which I only have 2 from the previous year. My FICO is 769 according to my Discover statement so it struck me as odd when they denied me. Hopefully it works out. We shall see.

I hope it works out too for you. If Citi is bothered by 2 inquiries from the past year then they need to get a life. They are soo ridiculous when it comes to inquiries instead of looking at important factors when making a credit decision.

Thanks. I will update when I find out something. I just dont want to have this inquiry on my reports and get denied and then have to wait a month to apply again and get approved and waste the inquiry. I feel like they denied it for the Freedom and Amex ED approvals but still... First CSR I called just said "We dont reconsider credit card decisions" and hung up.

You probably dialed the wrong number as you can call the analyst directly. What kind of customer service is that anyway? I hope you took note and file a complaint about such lousy service. Since you have reached out to EO, lets see what happens and keep us posted. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

You might want the direct number: 423-477-6858.
I would try that one.
I'll call that one Monday. Thanks
