Citi Secured Card

If I have the citi secured card am I able to apply for another citi product? I've gotten mixed answers from customer serivce. Some say yes while others say I have to wait till the 18 months of the secured card is up. Can someone please help figure this out?

Re: Citi Secured Card

You can apply for another Citi card anytime you like, being approved however is another story. Several factors would determine approval, scores, baddies, utilization etc. As far as citi's policy on how long you must have the secured card before you can apply for other products? I don't think anyone really knows for sure unless they are a Citi UW. I would give it at least six months of solid payment history with them before applying for other cards, if it were me.

It is a very easy decision.  There is a reason for the secured card.  If the scores in your signature are your current scores, you will be declined by Citi.  So wait for them to go up a bit and that also gives you time to show responsible use of your secure card.
