Citi Simplicity

Well my run has possibly come to a halt. I just applied for my 3rd Citi card in past 2 weeks and got the will notify you in 7-10 days on your decision. January 17th approved for rewards + account for 5k, and January 21st approved for Double Cash for 10k. Today applied for invitation Citi Simplicity card 7-10 notification. Fico 8 scores EQ-718, TU-670, EX-690. AAoA is 8 years total CL= 25k. I’m at 50% utilization across board. That’s really not an issue as I could pay the balances at any given time but, have 2 accounts with 0% so why.

You can't apply for more that 2 Citi cards in a 60-day period.

Re: Citi Simplicity

Didn’t know my bad. What will the draw backs to my actions? You think they will cut my accounts before I even receive my first card? I thought I read that Citi will allow you to have 3 cards that’s it. Guess I’m a bad customer before even starting off right? Well I’ll sit back and enjoy the show so to speak. Thanks for the feedback and the negative comments I deserve it i imagine.

"You can't apply for more that 2 Citi cards in a 60-day period."

well, I guess The Citi Shell Mastercard ($2000 SL) and The Citi Simplicity together are the exception to the rule,

Approved for both within 30 days. 30cents off shell Gas per first 5 fillups (Up to 20 Gallons)

Good till June of 2019

I got The Shell Mastercard, so when traveling, "My Other Card's will never see a Gas Station "Skimmer"..Smiley Wink

I simply will not use my regular everyday driver spending cards at any pump.

The Shell Mastercard is quite Luxurious compared to my Regular Non Visa/Mastercard Chevron Texaco

when Local, I uses a Rotten Robbie Debit Card to get 10cents of of an already "cheap" price at the pump.

hey did I really admit to Being a Rotten Robbie Club Saver ??...LoLSmiley LOL

and i have to drive by it everyday to get anywhere.

What negative comments? Your post was replied to in a factual manner.  Not everyone will know the rules of applying with certain lenders but please refrain from assuming follow up post are negative especially when they aren't.  That is how some post get out of hand before they even start. Thank you snd congrats on your success with Citi.

Re: Citi Simplicity

I truly wouldn’t be upset by it. I probably deserve it for being foolish with Citi. I’m open to any comments made. Thank you for your post though averagejoescredit.

The Shell Mastercard along with a plethora of others such as the Best Buy Visa/Store card, Sears MC/Store card, Home Depot, etc, are private label CCs underwritten by Citi Retail (CBNA).  The Citi Simplicity, Thank You Preferred, AAdvantage, Double Cash, etc, are 'core' CCs from Citi.  They are run as separate UW divisions of the parent entity.  So, the Citi application 'rule' mentioned upthread applies to Citi 'core' CCs.

Since it appears you weren't familiar with those application rules, no harm, no foul OP.   The beauty about the forums is that there's lots of collective knowledge that can help you be better informed.   Sometimes it's a trial and error thing, but if you are unsure about something, definitely ask beforehand.

Re: Citi Simplicity

Yeah definitely my bad. I should have for sure posed the question on this forum before applying a 3rd time. I did notice that on my Equifax report it shows CBNA “ all banks” and on another it shows CBNA “national credit card cos.” Any idea what those are? Was meaning on the actual inquiry itself for each on my Equifax report. Thanks everyone for your great advise and recommendations.

Don't feel bad OP.  Even as much as I've learned about Citi over the years I've made a similar boo-boo in the past (miscalculation in my dates - whoopsie Smiley Very Happy).  So guess what!?  Life went on and I was eventually approved after I let some time pass.  There was no HP (whew! thankfully) since their internal system caught it.  So, I'm always near my handy-dandy 'abacus' to make sure I don't mess myself up again Smiley Very Happy   At the end of the day, you were approved for two decent products and we all learn as we go.

As far as CBNA, that stands for Citibank National Association - the entity that is coded when your CR was accessed, otherwise known as Citi.
