Hey all. I applied for a Citi card today and following the application processing screen it said something along the lines of Citi will contact me within 7-10 days for further information. Is there a number I can call right away to speed up the process here or anything I can do on my end?
Also, I called 3 different numbers from the backdoor numbers thread. The first guy I spoke to (English speaking) said there was nothing wrong with the application on my end, but due to an issue on their end it hasn't been finalized. He said to call back in 24 hours to follow up. The second number I called (non-English speaking) I gave them my application ID and she told me that she could see that it was forwarded to a supervisor and they were "working on it now" but I could expect to hear back from them in 7-10 days. The third number (English speaking) essentially told me the same thing, that I'd hear back in 7-10 days but in the meantime could check the status of the application online whenever I want or give a call back every few days to follow up.
Those that have gone through this process with a Citi app, what does it typically mean?
Maybe. Usually the issue I've had in the past has to do with the suffix on my name. Since it's "V" quite often those drop-down suffix selectors don't go that high. Chase only goes to "IV" for example... so in those cases I have to select no suffix and then call and make sure they include it internally even though I can't include it on my app. With Citi though, "V" was actually an option which was surprising, so my name should be just fine this time around.
I'm hoping the first person I spoke to was correct in saying that there was an internal issue on their end and that it's not an issue with my application/profile.
I had this issue with Citi this weekend, Saturday I apped for Simplicity and got the we need more time, a few hours later email call us, I did they could do nothing on their end I was told, Called the backdoor number on here for a UW and even they said it was a glitch on their end, long story short (too late!) I got a call from them Sunday, approved. I have never had an issue with apps from them before so maybe last week was not their finest moment! LOL Hope you hear something soon, and good luck!
Just got an email, about 2 hours after applying that I was approved with a $7300 SL. I was hoping for $10k. No such luck. I'm interested in reconning the limit. Has anyone reconned a Citi SL recently and if so, which CS number did you use? Did you ask for the exact limit you wanted, or did you shoot a lot higher in anticipation of a counter offer? Thanks for any advice here!

For Citi $7300 is a great SL! I'd give it six months and hit them with a HP then.I responded to the other thread before I saw this one.
If I waited 6 months, wouldn't I just go the SP route then as I'd be on pace for one at that time?
If I'm going to take a HP, I'd rather take it sooner rather than later so that it's gone quicker. I don't plan on apping at all for the next year or so. My next app will likely be a mortgage, so I want to make sure that 1-2 years from now I have as many profile-reducing factors (like inquiries) gone as possible.
When u get the card in hand call them ask for cli take the HP done deal.

Congrats and great SL...good luck to you if you decide to recon...
Recon = another HP.. Or wait 6 months and get a SP CLI hopefully.. That is a generous SL for citi especially if you said that was a DC card
