Citi double cash card

Members, today I received a pre selected offer from Citi for the double cash card with a solid APR on it. How accurate are their mailers? I did burn a citi simplicity card in 2009 along with a persona loan from citi in 2009 as well. I haven't even attempted to apply for Citi since paying them off and having it come off of my report. Did attempt a Best Buy card last year in my early rebuild days and was denied, before I knew the under writer was citi

With two burns, I'd guess the odds are slim to none.

I wasn't even thinking of apping. In the garden for awhile now after getting 5 cards in year and all prime lenders. Just curious as to how accurate their mailers were from other people's experience

Not super accurate. Sometimes marketing is on a completely different page than the underwriters.

pre-selected is not the same as pre-approved is what I heard.

The mailers and online pre-qual are going off different criteria, I would try the online pre-qual before going further. I don't trust the mailers.

I've read that for Citi pre-selected and pre-qualified are the same. But who really knows lol.

I know that after I burned Cap a few years ago I didn't have any pre approval offers on the website, still don't at the moment. I do have a Cap QS with 3500 CL that I received from a cap one mailer. So at least for cap one the mailer was more accurate then the web site pre qualification.

Wondering if Citi is the same...plus I don't care enough to app for another card now or in the immediate future so I won't waste a hard pull to find out
