Hi, I receieved one of these other day. How reliable re they? I went online to try on their site for offers and I did not get any. Hate to waste a credit pull since I am trying to cut them down. I think I have 5 to come off by Jan. But I can use it for balance transfer.
Thanks
Tara
I asked this same question last night. In the pre approval do you have a firm APR listed or is it a range?
The responses I have received are that if the APR is firm and not a range your chances are pretty good. As always there is a chance you could be denied, but who knows.
It does have a 22.99
No range but thats not very good. Maybe I need to stay gardening as my original plan.
Ill have to look up your post. I didnt see it.
Tara
I dont see the balance transfer length right now> I thought it said one year yesterday.
Mine was 20.9% with 7 months no interest. Not great by any means, but I would really like to get a foot in the door with Citi other than their store cards.
If I were you, OP, I would wait. Keep checking online for prequals. For some reason, in my personal, friends, and family experience, doing this with citi and amex, seems to get them sending more mail offers. They tend to get better fairly quickly. In just a 3 month span I saw offers for the Citi Diamond Preferred at 22.9 with 8 months no interest, quickly change to 19% and 12 months. Then started seeing double cash 0 for 12 then 19%. Then 15 months. Then one day, presto chango, no interest for EIGHTEEN months, then 13.99%. I would not have apped for this otherwise (even though I tend to PIF).
At approval in July, my scores were all 690-705. Only a handful fewer inquiries. If you have a lot of general spend, and want in with citi, then I guess you could take the offer. What other cards do you currently have?

Yes. Wait it out for a minute.
They have been sending me offers for the last month. Today the offer went from 20.99 12 months to 19.99 18 months 0 apr(really only interested in the 0 apr for citi diamond 21 months) Not much but shows they will extend better offers. I plan to hold out for better terms.
