I recently got approved for the simplicity card after being on their BL for 13 long years. Tried my luck with the double cash back card denied for "past history of an account included in BK with them"
I do believe that some Citi cards are just easier to get than others and they seem to be looking at the DC as one of, if not the, top tier card in their line-up.
I do believe that Citi seriously dislikes me and we have since decided to see other people. I had the DC card until today when I closed it. I had that card for just over a year and within that time I received one CLI for $500....which brought my limit up to $1200. Citi gave me this card when my scores were in the dumpster so I understood the low starting limit but as my scores improved and broke over 700 and other lenders seemed to at least like like me (love is a fickle beast) I would have thought that Citi would at least try and compete. At the very least pre-approve me for a different card. Nope. There is just something about me that they do not like. In fact when I called today to close the DC there wasn't even a wisp of trying to retain me.
