Why not search the Approvals forum to see what others did?

My experience: 1st CLI on two Commenity cards @ 7 weeks after approval. Cards have grown from 1k and .5k to 17k and 16.5k in less than 1 1/2 years.

MC/V/D typically have different CLI timeframes than standard store cards.

I really didn't want to make a new thread to ask this so I figured I would ask here.

My WS VISA showed up on EX and it's reporting open and I've been getting emails with rewards certificates and welcoming me to the rewards program so I think I must have managed to escape my card being shut down.

My question now is... when do you ask for a CLI? It's a $1K SL and I really don't know anything about Comenity except they like to shut down new majors for too much credit seeking and they can have awesome BT offers.

If at activation no CLI takes place, then it's 6 months from the approval date.   This is typically the initial time for the 1st CLI on the majors.   There are a few exceptions for individual profiles where a CLI can occur upon receipt of the card, but it's YEMV.

Yeah same $1K SL when I activated it. I'll wait, not a big deal. Thanks Fin. Smiley Happy

Sure, anytime. Just keep in mind that the infamous AA audit reviews can occur 60 days out from the initial approval, so IMO I wouldn't draw unnecessary attention.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

All of my cli requests on both my mc and vs were denied and for the same reason each and every time.  Account too new.  Just got another "Acct too new" in the mail.  My only experience with majors is limited to under 6 months.

My store cards shot up by 1 & 2k a pop on avg.  over a 20 year history with Comenity and always whenever I asked for more $.  Store cards are a whole lot nicer to me than these cc's.

Yep I am behaving myself. I even scheduled my payment on the website instead of pushing it and it's not due until 11/11.

Seems like Sync and Comenity are similar that way. All of my Sync accounts have grown this year except my PayPal MC which was the only major I had with them until I got the Marvel last weekend. They say too many new accounts as their reason every time. Meanwhile my other accounts get CLIs constantly - Amazon every three months and Payboo actually got one after two.

It's fine, I have other cards I can use. This is my first Comenity card period.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

The fact that I find value in the three Comenity store cards I have is exactly why I don’t want a major from them. I don’t want to risk cards that I can use for the sake of having a major that seems to undermine the stability with the bank that I currently have. I’ll stick with traditional majors instead.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

Honestly I'm amazed that my card wasn't canceled already. I decided to grab it at the tail end of my spreeing because this is the period where I'm going to be gardening for a bit. It's likely to be the longest that I stay in the garden since my BK falls next year. I'm planning to garden until February. If that's not enough time to appease Comenity, so be it. I wanted to test the waters with a card I don't really care if I lose before I go for the one I would want.

I don't blame you for not wanting to rock the boat with a Comenity major.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

Once again, two months to the date, SP CLI on VS this morning. Details in reply #1 on all my cards. This one was only a $250 increase to $2750, but it’s still an increase and puts my total with comenity at $10,200 - VS $2750, Overstock $2250, $5200 Wayfair. Fine with me.

Re: Comenity CLI HP/SP Data Points

Good Morning, I was just thinking about hitting that Luv button but Comenity seems so stingy with cli's on my GoodSam Vs....I just don't know.

But now seeing your success on a monthly basis (Congrats! BTW) makes me want to try again. Wish I could remember the last time I tried, maybe last week? idk.....I'm good at begging and talking to myself. I need coffee!  Did you make any? lol....congrats againSmiley Wink
