Comenity Credit Cards

Does Comenity really make you wait 9 months before receiving a credit limit increase ???

Re: Comenity Credit Cards

Close to, but not exact. VS should increase after about 7 months.

On some cards, yes.  Unless you receive an auto-CLI before the 9-month mark then that seems to be norm.  Some retail cards would be exempt from that "waiting" process, like the J.Crew card as an example.

Re: Comenity Credit Cards

Just go for CLI... they don't "reset" any clocks...

log in the day after you make your payment (after the statement cuts) and request the CLI

Re: Comenity Credit Cards

I have the Trek card and even though I cycled (HA!) the credit line of $4,500.00 twice (what can I say, triathalon road bikes and true mountain bikes needed to be bought. Credit health VS. Financial health maybe?). Anywho, the CLI button is there, but when clicked I immediately get the "Your account is not currently eligible for a credit increase message".  I've had the card since June.

Re: Comenity Credit Cards

I'm kinda shocked at why people want new credit cards and then immediate CLI's.  That to me would tell a lender that you're desperate.  I never hit the luv button.  4 of 5 of my Comenity cards are attached to Visas and MCs so adding all the limits together gives me a great amount I can spend and stay below the 10% utilization.  I didn't take any hard pulls on my Comenity cards and my credit score is scheduled to go over 800 by March 2015.  I don't care what the name on the card says or how pretty it is.  It buys what I want and it reports positively for me.

Re: Comenity Credit Cards

Just wanted to clear things up. I am not desperate. I was just asking a simple question on the forum. Since I see it discussed so many times.

Didn't mean to come across as attacking you or making it personal.  It looks like your question was answered.
