Comenity Credit cards

I was approved for overstock 30 days ago and still hasnt reported on any of the credit bureaus. I haven't used the card so it has $0 balance. I applied for Jcrew a week after that and used $70 and it reported when I received the card. Does any one know if comenity only reports once there's activity on the card? It's just odd to me cause i've heard that comenity is super fast on reporting.

Re: Comenity Credit cards

It must just be a glitch on their part.  Back when I got my overstock card, it reported long before I actually used it.

Re: Comenity Credit cards

I know that some cards with Comenity only report when there is activity. And they can be super slow updating certain credit report agencys. I paid off my Gordons account months ago and EQ still shows the original balance as does another card i have . We are in Sept and this was like from Mar or Apr. I recently made small purchases and am going to let them report before i pay them off so that they update my file and show my increased credit limit . Then ill let em sleep for another 3 -4 months or so to keep active. Comenity is like the younger brother bear to Papa Sync bear, no need to poke if i dont want to stir the pots Smiley Happy

Re: Comenity Credit cards

@kobe2012 to me this is a catch to many Comenity SCT cards, for many, especially rebuilders, you may get the pop up but many are given just that starting $250 credit line. Now i understand overstock and jcrew seem to be cc's that can grow nicely but many times too often we see people get caught up in opening all these SCT cards and given the so called toy limits. I would only recommend apping for a card you know you will use not just because you can get it without a hp. Thats in my humble opinion. I remember before i found my fico, i was seriously entertaining the thought of getting Overstock. Thankfully i didnt as since a) since i have Amazon, it would be redundant, and b) its a Comenity card that i teally dont want to worry about,( just my own opinion). Thusly i would have been stuck with a card i dont use.

Sometimes there are certain cards we try for or wsnt to try for because they can grow and help utilization which is fine but if we want to build a really good profile we should do it diversly and at least with cards we really want. I almost applied for a Old Navy card with Sync because i thought i could get it but thankgully i held down that impulse .i dont really ahop there and it would have been a card possibly to get hihh limit but would not serve me in end. These are lessons ive learned on my short time here on myfico and hopefully i can help at least one person to not make same mistakes ive made on my comeback trailSmiley Happy

In short( ok long haha lolSmiley Happy ), always app for cards that have benifits to you or that you will use, itll make your journey much more enjoyable. Great SundaySmiley Happy

Re: Comenity Credit cards

Even if you do decide to close it it will report anyway and still hit your AAOA anyway. You might as well just let it grow for now.
