I received this Comenity Pre-Approval offer for their Mastercard in the mail. Is this a decent card? Are starting limits normally low? Just looking for thoughts from members that have this card. Has anyone received CLI. ![]()
Thanks
It's a generic 1.5% cashback card, not terrible but nothing really that sets it apart from other 1.5% cards in a positive light.
They are not generous with starting limits.
I have the card which was converted from the now-defunct Orbitz CC. It's a decent card, nothing extraordinary by any means, but I wouldn't expect a high SL out-of-the-gate if approved.
If your bases are already covered as far as cashback cards go (based on your signature), then this wouldn't add anything else.
The rewards redemption portal is kinda crappy. Way less user friendly than other cards such as Capital One. However, it should grow okay.

@coldfusionthanks. I wondered if it was worth the points it would cost. I only have the Overstock account with Comenity. The Overstock account is 0.00/9750.00. Thanks again.
If you were looking to bonus-chase or card collect it would be one thing but you're for example already entrencned in the NFCU ecosystem and have an Active Cash so it's not as if you were being preapproved for a card superior to those you already hold.
The preapproval is pretty solid if there hasn't been a notable change in your credit history the last say 3 months or so (new accounts, big increase in reported debt, etc) so it's up to you if you want to apply but I don't know that other than collecting a SUB if there is any long term benefit to you obtaining the card.
That mailer is the real deal. I responded to the same mailer recently and was approved with a 1k sl.
1.5 cb, sub 100 for 500 spend in first 90 days. 3 percent cb for dining thru december.
cb is only redeemable as a statement credit.
I got my card last week.
