I got a Comenity West Elm store card last year in July with a $1500 SL, which I really like because I've been in the process of furnishing my place and I'm a fan of their furniture. I've made a decent bit of purchases in the past year and paid it off to $0 balance.
I'd like to get a CLI as I'm looking to make a larger purchase (a couch) and would like to take advantage of the card's 10% rewards perk, but my CL is too low to realistically use it for that purchase. I've been trying some other Comenity pre-approvals (IKEA Projekt, Lexus card, Alphaeon), and am seeing pre-approvals in the range of $2500-$6500 for those (but I don't need any of them, so I haven't and won't app).
Unfortunately, the CLI button in my online West Elm Comenity account doesn't seem to work, and hasn't for as long as I can remember. It just says "We're sorry, but your account is not eligible for a credit limit increase at this time. For more information, please send us a message via Secure Message Center or call Customer Care at 1-800-695-3988 (TDD/TTY: 1-800-695-1788)."
I've tried calling in and they say they can do it over the phone, but no guarantees whether it'll be a HP or not. Anyone have any experience getting a comenity CLI over the phone under these conditions?
