I applied for the Amazon chase visa card and got a 30 day message. Then I called the status line and got a 7-10 day message.

is there any hope here?

There a couple of people reported similar situations. Some approved some didn't. Depends on your case and credit profile.

Typically with Chase:

30 days = review

2 weeks = review/need to verify

7-10 = declined

2-3 days = approval

Note that I said typically. There have been some people lately getting approved with the 7-10. They needed to call in and verify some info.

With Chase it wouldn't hurt to call and see if they need any further information from you.  If it is denied you could try and Recon.
