FWIW, this is no reflection at all on lindsaydruart... I believe her completely, and sincerely appreciate the data point she provides about getting back in after going through a rough patch.
It's just that sometimes the good folks at the branch/on the phone aren't as up to date on some particulars as we are, especially with things that so many of us watch so closely, such as our HPs.
On the 'plus' side, soon we'll know either way... ![]()
I did get a call about the NavChek today. If you close the NavChek it can't be reopened on the same account so the Loan Officer told me to open a new account and reapply. Sounds like it would have been an approval but they can't activate it because of the previous one.

I'm in the same boat your in I had a closed flagship card that still had a balance 20k maxed out I paid to zero but I haven't app for a card yet cause 1) I'm scared I'm going get decline cause blacklist and 2) I have to wait till the statement is cut on the 18th so the 3 credit bureaus will show zero balance.
My scores are EQ 646 TU 606 EX 645 what you think my chances are for a high limit cash rewards?
The loan officer did say it was best to wait until it reported but mine was business debt so it wasn't on my report anyway. Once that zero shows up, call and make sure they have it in the system as paid in full and you should be good to go. I doubt it would be high limit with those scores. Start with a NavChek and get some new history under your belt then pull the plug on the card when you are over 680.
Go for it then and let us know how it went
