Consumer CC or Project Loan

home depot.png

I should get the approval from my HOA tomorrow, then I will have two months to install the fence.

Which would you think is a better deal to use and spend about $5000 worth of vinyl fence.  I'm planning on PIF in about 2 to 3 yrs, maybe sooner.

Should I go for HD (by Citi Bank which denied me for double cash rewards in June due to CH7 and burned them)

OR

Should i go for Lowes 5.99% for 84 months if spending $3500 or more (Lowes is more expensive)

I added everything i need to the cart on both sites, and HD came cheaper by $500.

I wont finance through fence companies because it will be well over $7k for the amount of fence i will be installing (labor mainly)

Won't do a personal loan with local CU because APR are much higher, lowest i found was 12%

Thanks all!

If you can get a special 24 month on the regular HD credit card and then any balance you have left right before the 24 months transfer it to another card.

If that promo is not going on then it sounds like you should do the loan since you need 24-36 months and 12 isn't close and the credit card if not paid in full you will get back billed all the interest so you will need to balance transfer the balance somewhere before the promo is over if you do the regular credit card.

Good point, just keep thinking it's a Citi backed card and I burned them in CH7 AND denied for one of their cards last month.

Do you get an offer on the pre-qual for the store card?

The good thing about Lowes credit card is the store card is the major purchase card, if you spend enough you can automatically just ask for the major purchase fixed apr on that purchase.

The home Depot major purchase is through a different bank all together (it's not citi)

Re: Consumer CC or Project Loan

Im shooting for Lowes and dont have pre-quals.  This will probably be my only highest expense on the house (fence).  The rest was already renovated when we bought it.
