Crazy citi DC application

So on Sunday I applied for the CITI DC. Was told to call in for verification because i used my ITIN. They told me they needed a copy of my ITIN so i faxed that in immediatiely. They didnt upload that until wednesday. So today I goT a call but I missed and and the voicemail said to call them back. So I did, give them my application, ID, my Name, DOB and they pulLed up my info and said that they reeived my IRS form letter not my ITIN. So i said to them that is my ITIN IRS no longer issues an itin card. She was adamant that I was wrogn and went to speak to a supervisor, and then came back and said I needed to fax the card. I said to her how can I fax something that no longer exists.

Anyway so I asked to speak to a supervisor and I explain that i understand the confusion because IRS stopped issuring the card because they didnt want it to be confused with an SSN and that he can follow that up on the IRS website. As per the website it states "The IRS changed from an ITIN card to an authorization letter to avoid any possible similarities with a Social Security Number card. Current ITIN holders’ cards will not be replaced. They should continue to use the numbers previously issued when they are required to supply an identification number for tax purposes."

He put me on hold and said sorry for CITI not being up to date with the new regulations (that have been in for awhile), and said to process it requires "special processing' and that someone would contact me withint 2-4 hours or by tomorrow.

I applied for citi using the same ITIN that Ive used for CHASE (freedom $3200, Slate $1000) BOA CASH REWARDS ($4000), AMEX ($6000), CAPITAL ONE QUICKSILVER ($3800 AND $2000) and Walmart ($7000), and I never had a problem except i had to fax the same form to Capital one when i started building credit in September 2014.

Anyway Im still waiting, i figure if they were going to deny me they would have already for maybe too many inquiries, and they did deny me earlier this year for not long enough credit history.
