Hi myFico Community,
Quick question - anyone have any insight on whether or not it's a bad idea to put in a credit app during a credit dispute with both Equifax and Experian? I submitted a dispute to both Equifax and Experian for items that were incorrect, but I just saw that teh 50,000 points bonus is back for the SW Chase and I've been itching to get that card for the extra bonus points.
Thanks!
Having an active dispute with Equifax and Experian does not affect your ability to apply for a credit card. There is no correlation between the two.
Still have disputes on my old lates and paid CO's.. No impact at all in getting approved for new credit as yes-it-me stated .
On another note your credit profile will decide whether you are approved or not, not a note on your CR's.
I have a pending dispute with all 3 Credit reporting agencies and apped for Cap1, BofA and Discover Cards and was approved. When asked by discover about my history they never once asked about the dispute which we all know EQ like to put in the lime light for all to see.
My dispute w Experian triggered them to auto place fraud alert on all three of my bureaus. It didnt ask me to supply a contact number as a result some apps were denied no recon nothing.
