Right now, I wouldn't expect to see a lot of mailers in your mailbox. I think Amex cut their marketing budget significantly as part of the 3bn in cost-savings plan to weather the rescession. Lots of other lenders are following suit with cuts to their direct mail programs. That's not to say you won't see offers, but that there will be far less in the immediate future than there were just a few months ago.

LOL... that's disappointing, I was really hoping I'd quit getting them once I get above 700 or so ![]()
Credit One (and similar predatory cards) are still the only mailers I ever get. Occasionally I'll get an "invitation to apply" mailer from whatever the Citi airline card flavor of the week is, which doesn't really count - it's just an ad, not a pre-approval.
Nevertheless, I've been approved for some pretty good cards just by using online pre-qualification tools, despite never getting any worthwile pre-approvals in the mailbox.
