Credit Freeze and Card Applications

Does freezing a credit report file tend to lead to a denial or alternative pull more often?

My EQ has more inquiries due to a new car purchase last November, with TU/EX having a lot fewer. If I were to freeze EQ, would Chase or Discover likely pull TU or EX or request for me to open EQ? I would prefer to avoid getting more HPs on it.

Those HPs from a little more than a year ago is all that is holding my score down and giving me a relatively bad score compared to the other two.

This cannot really be discussed here.. With that being said, you can try and see what happens and if they will pull another CRA or happen to pull the one you want just by default; the worse that can happen is a no go.  Other than that, it is a taboo subject on the forum and can't really be discussed in any detail.  Other forums will provide you with more detailed information regarding this.

Freezing reports leads to a denial usually. The computer will pull what it wants to pull and if it cannot get the bureau it wants. Then it can lead to 2 possibilities:
1. They might ask to unfreeze so they can pull that bureau.
2. Instant denial, in terms to if they tried pulling 2 bureau's and they could only get 1.

Thought I could give it a try. TU/EX are enough. Smiley Happy

Re: Credit Freeze and Card Applications

Freezing a specific report to stop a creditor from reviewing it is unethical and it's promotion is not allowed per TOS.

Not sure where this info is coming from. Not really. But as said can't be discussed. Ymmv. But mine was not like that. Smiley Very Happy

I'm not discussing freeze per rules, but my experience with Chase and Discover is that they both want EQ and will not go anywhere else.  This has been my experience here in OH.  Chase may double pull, but they want that EQ (again here in OH anyway).  Discover told me they can pull any of the three but it depends on geographical region.   Here in OH it's EQ.
