So its been a boring couple of days while i wait for my lastest and greatest card (venture) ...not really but i do get exited about new cards..
But today in the mail i got a pre appoval for a Credit one card platinum i believe which said up to 1.5k which it made me giggle at the spot. i shred the letter and went to Credit one website to check out their pre approvals page (yes very bored at this point)
and i was approved for a black card and a whooping $750 CL and a apr of 22%.
Credit one is a joke ha!
(i should have taken the offer lol )
just letting some rant out of me
Credit One should never appear in the "Credit Card Applications" forum.

I think of them as being analogous to the "leech" remedies that charlatan doctors prescribed in the 18th century. At best, ineffectual and often doing more harm than good.
And yes, the choice of comparing Credit One to a leech was no accident.
I got the same offer but at 19.9 ![]()
I am going to be the bad guy and say Credit One isn't all bad. Now yes, I know they charge fees for almost everything and have high rates, but they DO have their place and have helped me greatly. They gave me an unsecured card when others wouldn't even give me a secured card. Even if I could get a secured, at the time I didn't have $200-300 laying around for a deposit. I had a small limit of $300 and at 6 months they bumped me to $400...automatically, without having to pay a fee. At that same six month mark, much to my surprise, I was approved by Capital One not once, but twice, each at $1,000. That WOULD NOT have happened if not for Credit one. Now, will I keep the card much longer....heck no. But it does have its purpose for those of us who have made mistakes and I hate that those with "good" credit bash on it.
*end rant*
Credit One....even the name makes me cringe. You can tell by the name already it's a complete scam.
And the worst part is that my mom now has one of these junk cards, despite the fact she's already an AU on my Chase AARP.

Agreed. But I also think that it should be dumped as soon as a card or two are acquired from a good issuer.

ABSOLUTELY! It isn't a long term card by any means.
And anyone getting a card from them should throughly research (as with any card), but a majority of complaints come from those who 1) don't need that card because they can get better or 2) those who got the card without paying attention to what it is. I researched the card prior and have been 100% satisfied with them.
