DENIALS :( ..... now smiling !!!

Shunning my face for why I felt ballsy to apply in the first place. Scores are 669 EX , 628 EQ,  & 621 TU

Applied for Capital One Venture One & the QS One. Both instant denials ... I'll search for a backdoor #.

First applied for a Delta Gold Skymiles and was given the 7-14 day message.... I'll try to call to recon.

Baddies include a paid charge off from 7 months ago & an open collection on both TU & EQ. 

My last 30 day late payment was 9 months ago. Was recently approved for a Cap1 Platinum for $1000..... now im bracing for the hard hit score declines. (crying)

I believe I may have good news for you.

My understanding is that Cap1 only allows 1 app per 90 days and that's probably why you got the instant decline. If that's the case, you shouldn't get a hard pull on either of those apps.

669 EX is right on the border for the Delta product, so hopefully it is just verification and you are good to go.

That open collection. See if you can get that paid off. It will help tremendously down the road on approvals. I have 2 PIF chargeoffs that was PIF several years ago. The approvals will follow suit.

I have great news !!!!! Called the Amex Recon & without giving much info beyond my birthday the rep confirmed that I was APPROVED for $2,000 !!!!!

I have scores in the 620s & have been approved for an AMEX !!!!! OMG FOOT IN THE DOOR

Congrats -- I highly recommend waiting until 61 days to apply for 3X CLI. I got a letter in the mail (and general consensus matches).... my letter said account must be 60 days old before applying for CLI. There have been a few that got CLI at activation, but it was mostly people with previous relationships with Amex. Pretty much anyone getting their first AMEX has been denied for CLI before the 61 day mark.

Either way... I'm glad your sadness turned to Smiles... I, too, got in the door with Amex Delta Gold and Blue Cash Everyday last month.. I put $2500 through on the Delta Gold in the first 30 days and just yesterday they posted my 35,000 miles reward already!
