Same thing happened to me with a CLI request... they seem to be pulling in the reigns a little bit and are more sensitve to things that they weren't in the past.

@Azza @austinguy makes great points. I've got 12-14 inquiries since my December spree and 5 of them are Amex. Of the 5 apps I got the Delta Gold and the ED. I'm gardening now but I want the PRG card badly but I'm going to wait. My numbers are EX 739 EQ 735 TU 761, no baddies, no latest, PIF every month. Just got the 3X CLI on the Delta, will go for it on the ED in May. By then , EX and EQ scores should be north of 750. Hopefully it's a SP if denied but I'll take this last HP if it means approval.

AmEx has been very sensitive to the size of your payments for a number of years. The best fix is to PIF.
