Declined for US Airways mastercard CLI, and for Priceline Mastercard

So I decided to see about getting a CLI on my barclay's US airways card, and was denied....the reason? "Your account currently has sufficient available credit". When they called me he stated that "We see that you charge around $3000 to your account every month, and that you pay in full every month & we really appreciate that, however, we need to see what your payment history would look like if you carry a balance" What?!? are you kidding me !?! I asked if a hard pull was made in their decision, and he stated no. At that point I applied for the priceline MasterCard and was just going to transfer the credit line when opened to my US airways card. I received the letter in the mail regarding the decline, and it stated the same thing...."that I had sufficient credit available on my current barclay's account". It also stated that no credit pull was conducted. Anyone have any ideas if I would be able to get either one of these decisions overturned ? or if I called in to credit solutions if they would conduct a had pull or soft to check on this ? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Certainly you can recon the Priceline decline.  It won't be a SP to discuss it with a credit analyst.

This is a standard Barclays response re: CLI requests. They often remind me of a possessive girl/boyfriend. If they see other cards receiving a majority of your attention they tend to become amusingly jealous (well I find it amusing).

Nonetheless after a somewhat unnecessary conversation I wound up having with them last year over the issue I simply informed them that I would no longer be using their card but appreciated having had the opportunity to use it for the time I'd been given and thanks.

A month later while checking account notice a seemingly magical increase of 5.5k. Take away from it what U will (although I was dead serious about no longer using the card).

Life is too short.

Barclays has given me that reponse the last time I hit the button on 3 of my cards.

Luckily they only hard pulled me once for Arrival + and called me and said we are not going to increase the limit.

Re: Declined for US Airways mastercard CLI, and for Priceline Mastercard

with barclay, it's better to wait about 6 months after getting approved for the card. you don't even have to show. when I got my arrival card, they gave me 3k limit, 6 months later I applied for u.s airways card with starting limit of 2k, I called to ask for more, but they told me same respond as yours, good payment history blah blah blah, which basically means i've hit internal limit (or whatever it's called) so i should try in 6 months.
