The invitation is just marketing. I get those every couple months. Go for it if you fly Delta. Not the hardest of card to get approve for. ![]()

I received an invitation for the Delta AMEX with 70k bonus miles. I just opened up two credit cards this week however, Discover and Chase. Should I still apply for this? When you get an invitation, is it a sure thing to get approved?
An invitation is not the same as a pre-approval. If you want to be sure, go to the AmEx pre-qual page.
Also, how many cards have you opened in the last 24 months? If you pass the 5/24 rule Chase can cancel your new card, as they are known to soft pull you a few times after approval. You don’t want to spook them...

I would sit tight and let Chase grow comfortable with you. They are already going to be spooked when Disco reports.
I do have same offer and I do fly often with delta. Amex was IIB soo... I will wait .
