Also as a side note, a collection is a collection with respect to FICO scoring. Whether we agree with it or not, dollar amounts don't really matter.
Not 5/24 It's been over two years since I've applied to a chase product and I've only got one chase card.
I am glad to read you got some approvals with other cards! Try amex and see if you have any offers. And you still could get the other ones!

Just an FYI, 5/24 includes ALL new revolving accounts, not just Chase. Not saying that's the reason you're having trouble, just wanted to clarify.
Regarding the collection, is it paid off?
I look at Equifax credit reports every week and I'm amazed at how many people have collections accounts of less than $100. Like you couldn't have paid that $58 sprint bill!?!?!?!

Op, my credit report has an error on my DOB. It prevented me from instant approvals. Now I just apply with the error DOB and get the instant approval. Good luck!

Uhhh wouldn't disputing the incorrect DOB with the credit bureaus be much more effective? I mean ultimately you don't want any erroneous information on your credit report no?

At the risk of sounding 'preachy' I'll add that the longer you put off correcting your DOB the more hassle it will be.
I had a family member in a similar situation... it wasn't impossible to fix, although it would have been much simpler to have corrected it earlier on rather than 'kick the can' down the road.

Im not to sure about that statement. About a year or two ago, FICO announced that medical collection accounts < $100 would no longer effect FICO scoring. However, once the account is placed on your file, it can reset your 'Date since last negative' counter

Tell me about it.. IRS has my DOB as 12/13/YY vs. 12/31/YY so each year I file my taxes I gotta use 12/13 vs. 12/31.. Someone typed it wrong ALONG time ago and tried to fix it once and ya no very fruitful, will try again one of these years before I gotta collect social security if it still exists when i retire ![]()
