No credit card required
Browse credit cards from a variety of issuers to see if there's a better card for you.
Rep said needed 24-48 hours, and they just sent me the CS preferred. I didn't get a call or an email or anything, just sent me the other card. Shouldn't they have given me a choice if I wanted it?
Can you share what the credit limit was on the CSP?
CSR has a minimum credit line of $10,000.
My best guess is that your credit line was less than $10,000.
But yes I would have thought it would have been a denial not that lower card would have been issued.
They gave me $5,000
Credit limit under $5,000 is why no Chase Sapphire Reserve.
I did not see your application but some applications say they may approve you for a lower card if they decide not to approve you for card you applied for.
Edit: mangled my reply but hopefully meaning was clear.
Credit line was too low for CSR card.
I will own my typo and leave it as is.
Hi and welcome to the forums @Anonymous
Without knowing anything else about your profile, it's hard to tell whenever you had a chance at CSP/CSR
Your CSP approval is kinda "squeeze you in", so I dont think you had a chance at CSR at this time
You have a couple of options.
First one is waste HP and close CSP if you're unhappy with in. You'd also be losing opportunity at collecting the SUB for the next four years.
Second option is use your card like you normally would, get the SUB, hope for auto CLI, if that does not happen, ask for HP CLI after a year, and if granted upgrade to CSR. In a nutshell, make a lemonade.
Yeah, technically they should've asked you if that was ok.
I say keep the CSP. You got your foot in the door with Chase and the CSP is to be a great card. Minimum starting line of $5000, no foreign transaction fee. Great travel card.
