Dick's Sporting Goods card

What can anyone tell me about the Dick's Sporting Goods card?  I know they have a store version and MC version, and that you must apply there.  What sort of scores are they looking for?  Who do they pull ( I live in NJ)?  The rewards structure seems great for what I want to buy.  I honestly don't care if I get the store or MC version since the goal is to use this for my one big purchase and then pay off interest-free.  I'm wondering what the starting limit ranges are.  I'm sure they aren't high, but I don't want to waste my time if it's only going to be $300 or so.

Thanks in advance for your help

it's sync so more than likely TU pull... there is a way to get an app online and apply from home... I had better luck finding it through my mobile phone... I think it's posted on here a couple weeks ago when we were talking about this topic.

I applied at the store, got the store card with 800.00 limit, after about a year, I requested a cli on line and the card is now up to 1300.00, only problem is that you can't order on line and pay with store card, so unless you live close to a Dicks sporting goods store, I wouldn't apply.

Best Wishes!!!

I apped beginning the beginning of April at a Dick's store and was approved for $1,800 and the store card.   I was bummed because I was hoping for the mastercard.    I haven't tried for a CLI yet though.

Good luck.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods card

I applied in store a month ago. Had to call in for verification. Approved for $1200 but they HP'd TU twice. SMH. Anyway, it sits at $4k now. called in for CLI 2 days later ---> $2.5k then a week later to get it to where it's a at now.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods card

Why did you have to call in for verification? I have a fraud alert on mine, so I'm wondering if I'd have to do that. But two HPs sounds ridiculous.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods card

Unless your TU is unfrozen, Synchrony won't approve you and you'll get the standard application pending response.

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods card

It's not frozen, but does have a fraud alert. Those aren't the same correct? What is the standard application pending response? I was under the impression that all they needed to do was verify my identity. Are you saying that's not the case?

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods card

Sorry, yes the fraud alert is different. It would notify the lender to contact you prior to extending credit. So in this case Synchrony would most likely seek verification by contacting you through a cell phone for instance. I think the responses are generally the same (5-7 day notification or whatever the exact days are).

Re: Dick's Sporting Goods card

So basically because of the fraud alert, there's no chance they can approve me there in the store?
