Ok... So my mom just applied for a dillrds store card and it came back "delayed processing". Is that a denial? Should I have her call? I am confused! I have never seen it. Advice????
It usually means that a person has to review it because either she is in the grey area, there was a system glitch, or the credit report is too complicated. As long as it did not say denied or sorry we could not approve you then you are still in the running. Store cards are also the most common ones to need extra time to process.
May I ask what the result was? This same thing happened to me today and the person at the counter seemed baffled by it.
I applied over the Christmas holidays at the store and was told I'd receive an answer. I know that I have a fraud alert, so I figured they would call me. Well, I did not hear anything and i called. I was told that they had called and left a 7 digit # to call back with. I did not receive the number. Then I was told to go back to the store and I would have to re-apply. Did this, again denied, because it showed there was already an app on file. Now I am told I need to re-apply with a paper app.
I am not going to do that, no more inquiries for that card is worth it .
