Gotta love Discover! If anyone told me you'd have over 65k in CL's 3 years ago. I'd say your out of your freaking mind! Less than 2 yrs ago I started with the 1st card at 1200. Now 15,300 with both cards. Feels great.
Hope it gives hope to others it can be done.
Nicely done!!
Congrats!
So - my 3rd statement on my second card cuts today. Should I be hitting the luv button soon, or wait to see if auto luv comes?

I think I would go for it but then again, I have no patience..
It's a SP though so no harm..
Good Luck!
I'm beginning to wonder why I bother secure-messaging Discover if they give me information that makes no sense. I messaged them yesterday to get clarification on how long one has to wait before combining cards, and the message I got said flatly:
"Our apologies for the misinformation. We don't combine credit card limits at Discover card. If you have two cards for the intention of combine credit limits, you would apply for credit limit increases on one or both of the accounts. Once you get the credit limit to the desired level of one or both cards, you can keep both cards or close one. To clarify, credit limit increases can only be done on accounts after the account has been open for 3 months or more. "
This makes no sense to me whatever, considering all the other discussion I've seen on combining Discover cards and how to do it. Then again, this proves yet again that the street-level CSR often has no notion of what actual policy is.

Well, as a lot of others have noted, the famous Discover "CLI train"'s frequency of stops can vary from person to person. For me, it's generally been 90 days - I got my first CLI on my "newer" card at the end of June after my statement cut so I'm going to push the button again at the end of this month and see what happens. The real puzzle for me, though, is the way off-base info the CSR gave on account combos, since I know for a fact from all I've read here that Discover does do account combos, albeit you have to have a CLI opportunity available, the card you want to combine should have a zero balance and you can't do it online, you have to call the backdoor number.
Not sure about combos. But when I opened my second card. They did move some CL to the new card. So it makes sense they would. I converted the older card to the Chrome mostly for groceries when the It isnt on that catagory and just to keep it alive at 5k. The CSR asked me if I wanted to block any CLI's and I went for it. Hoping they would treat the newest card right. So far so good. So between Sun Trust, BB&T, and the Chrome I alternate groceries for use and they are all 2% CB on groceries. Maybe someone can verify they do combos.
