My friend just applied for her first CLI. She logged onto Credit Karma and determined the Opened date, then used the Time and Date calculator to find the date exactly 91 days into the future. On that day, she checked Credit Karma. TU = 702, EQ = 703, requested a CLI and was immediately increased to 3000 from 1000. Also, it should be noted that her current balance at the time was 950. I was worried but the high current utilization didn't seem to matter much.
Repeat every 91 days and you should be golden

I change my theory about score now after reading pipeguy is 800's and gets $500 clis . When I have seen others with much lower scores get $6k, $7k increases. I seriously think they use a dartboard for cli requests. Geesh!

At this time, we cannot increase your credit line.
However, you can make another request at a future time. You will receive a letter in 3-5 business days that will detail the reasons for this decision.
So maybe I am every 6 months?
Or does it matter what time of day it is?

Don't look for a rhyme or reason with them. I've had intervals as short as 20 days, and sometimes had to wait 91 days. It's a weird company. But on the plus side, the CLI requests are soft pull, and the CLI's are granted at shorter intervals than most lenders.

I would personally keep trying. It's a SP so realistically you could request daily if you wanted. I recently just started getting increases (generally $500 at a time) and it seems like every 45 days or so for me (my limit was super low and still is to be honest). Discover is a weird beast, there are many people with much lower credit scores than me with super high limits. I don't truly understand it.
