Once I hit 6 months of my account opening to ask for a CLI do I need to just wait 6 months from the date my account opened or when my 6th statement cuts ?

Not sure whether it's months or statements, but either way I was under the impression you had to wait a whole year before requesting a CLI, unless that's changed.
They're unsecuring secured cards fairly regularly with CLIs after the 7th statement so maybe other cards are getting CLIs as well.
If its a regular card and not secured/graduated. Hit the luv button 61 and 91 days. One of them should work if you've been using the card regularly. Its a SP. Either yes or no. Go hit it. Let us know what happened.
Did mine 6 months 1 day.
Every time i requested it, it told me "insufficient time with credit limit". Last month i called in and asked and the rep on the phone told me the account has to be atleast 6 months old.
The CCC's are always changing something and we must adjust to the newer ways. Might be different in a few months. Yrs ago Cap1 used to give $10,000 SL's. That aint happening. 
Discover will let you try to ask for CLI every month without any hard pull. However, they might not approve you. In my experience, I usually spend about 30% of CL monthly, and pay half before the statement cuts and pay off after the statement cuts. Sometimes, I PIF before the statement cuts. I was able to get CLI between 61 or 91 days. This past 2 months though, i didn't use as much and they didn't give me any CLI, until again I charge about 30%, I got the CLI again recently.
